Selling not from Inventory - Drop Shipped items

Ronald, I got your suggestion about items with the code to not remove from inventory - Well the same items I do want to remove from inventory with local business so that would not work.
 Here are two other ideas on this I would like to have your feedback.  First is there a simple switch at the POS to not allow a inventory pull? and or 2nd - how about having a 2nd inventory list identical but just changing the vendor name perhaps then marking them all as non inventory items so when I have a out of state order our regional warehouse does the shipping I can just change inventories - will that work?

Will all the items in the sale be a drop ship or just some items?

Yes, all the items. I keep the same Amsoil products that our warehouse stocks for drop ship.

Have you tried the Drop Ship button?  An item can be set to Drop Ship status in the sales screen.  Select the item and use the Item Toolbox / Drop Ship.
It's possible we could add a drop ship button to set the whole order.

Thank you. I searched for drop ship in the help file and it's not there. When I finish my inventory updates I will test that as I see it now. I hope I can add that icon to my frequently used icons.

As for making drop ship available to the total sale that would be best or even be able to add that to a customer attribute. Our customers are either local (buy from my inventory) or out of state - all drop shipped.

Well, I tried the drop ship button - It seemed to not do anything at all.  And the product was removed from my inventory. Any help? Thank you...

The only thing the drop ship button does is set the product status to not be removed from inventory in that sell.

Then my only guess why it pulled from Inventory is because I hit the button several times. If that's not the case I can't be certain it works as there is no indication when it's pressed.

EDIT - It does indicate a drop ship.  A star at the end of the description for drop ship.
