Trade-ins
« on: September 06, 2012, 01:02:09 PM »
Hey Ron. Hope you can help me with this one.
We run a video store and get constant trade-ins from customers. The problem is that the cost of the product stays the same.
For example we purchase item A from our wholesaler for $10.00. It shows an average cost of $10.00. Now if someone trades in Item A for $5.00 it does not update the average cost price. Is there a way to do this even if it is an add-on module?

Isn't a trade-in a used item?  Are you sure you would want a used item to lower the cost of your new items?  Normally, you wouldn't I think.  But maybe for a rented items it's alright.  But, to answer your question, trade-ins do not average into the purchase price.

Thanks for the quick response Ron. We carry New and used product (both setup separately).
Is there a way for you to add this feature (at a cost of course)?
