Layaway returns
« on: January 06, 2014, 10:48:02 AM »
We need to cancel a layaway, but when we do the return it tells us to return the full amount of the purchase not just the deposit.  How do we do a return for just the amount deposited?

It should only remove the payments made.  You are using the Sales / Void This Sale?

Had a customer wanting to cancel a layaway.  Searched for the receipt number and tried to void the sale.  Window popped up "Is this sale open in another computer?  Only one computer can edit a sale at a time."  We have only one computer on.  Why can't I void the sale?

Thanks.

Open all your registers and make sure they are viewing a different sale.

Didn't help; still got the same message.  I opened Returns and pulled up the original receipt and it shows 1 in the returns column.  The return was never finalized so this may be causing the problem.  How can we restore the original receipt to the point where we can void it and account for the deposit we refunded?

You could try removing the User.ezp file.  Open the Help window and click on the Database link.  This will open a window.  Close all the programs on your network.  The User.ezp file is inside the ezp folder.  Move the User.ezp file out of the ezp folder and start the program.

I learned that this can happen if the Register# of a station is changed, either on purchase or by a crash.
